My story

“What the fuck, is this actually going to kill me?”

So my dad has been on statins for like 40 years. His parents died quite young from cardiovascular disease. His brother had a stroke and died too. There's a lot of hereditary stuff in my family but I never really thought about it. I was just living my life, eating whatever I wanted, drinking, having fun. You know how it is.

I'm 36 now. I did a cholesterol test and it came back quite a bit too high. Then I also did an Lp(a) test, which is the genetic component, and that was high too.

My wife is a doctor. She looked at my results and basically said: “This is actually pretty bad. If you keep this up without going on statins, you have a real problem on your hands. You might have a cardiovascular event, like a stroke or heart attack, sooner rather than later.”

That scared the shit out of me. I mean, really. Before that I wasn't worried about it at all, even with my dad's history. I just didn't think it was that urgent. “It's not going to happen to me,” right? But when you get older and you start thinking about kids and wanting to actually be there for them... you start taking it more seriously.

We looked up this cardiovascular risk calculator online. You fill in all your parameters and it spits out a percentage. For me it said something like a 40% chance of a cardiovascular event by 65. I was like: what the fuck, is this actually going to kill me?

💪

Taking action

So I started researching online and I found a lot of kind of conflicting stuff. I was confused, didn't really know what to do. So I asked AI to help me put together a plan and then I just said: OK, I'm going to build a program for myself and just stick with it. And that's exactly what I did. It took about a week to set up. I bought all the stuff and just slowly started changing things.

I had a lot of fuck-ups along the way. Went back to old habits multiple times. But I kept telling myself: I really need to stick with this, because otherwise I can just keep living like this, right? And that's not an option anymore.

📉

Ok too much information..

At first I didn't really notice a lot of change. I was also weighing myself every few days and then I kind of slowly started noticing things. It was so cool. I was really feeling like I was becoming a better version of myself. I went from 94kg down to 87.1kg and oh man, that felt so good.

Some funny effects you start noticing:

  • Your pants suddenly fit better
  • You're not all the time thinking about your gut and breathing in to make it look smaller
  • You start seeing the actual muscles, even a bit of abs
  • My wedding ring, which was a bit tight, suddenly became loose. I didn't even know fingers had fat on them, but apparently that's a thing
  • My resting heart rate dropped noticeably. I bought a heart rate monitor and started checking it regularly. Watching it go down week by week was really cool. That's my heart literally becoming more efficient

I started gaining quite a lot of confidence. I looked better in the mirror. I felt better. Way more energy. I mean over three months you can actually achieve so much if you put your mind to it.

😅

The setback

Two weeks before the end I had this kind of weekend with family. It was Easter. I had a drink, then chocolate, then so much more chocolate, and just bad food in general. After the weekend it was really hard to get back on track for a few days. I just kept eating and buying sweets. I felt really shit.

I thought: OK it's like a week until my final blood test and it's just going to be the same as before I started. Nothing is going to have changed.

One way or another I got back on track. Started taking the fiber again. Kind of felt all right. Did the blood test. Honestly not expecting much.

🤯

The results

It was absolutely mind-blowing. My wife sent me a text with the results with like five 🤯 emojis because she was so impressed. She's a doctor and she thought it was kind of almost impossible to change it that much in three months.

-6.9kg

Everything just improved massively. Good cholesterol across the board. There's not even bad cholesterol in there anymore. Before this, my wife said yeah for sure you're going to have to go on statins. Now? It looks very, very promising that I might have avoided them entirely.

❤️

Why I'm sharing this

So I packed everything I could find into the program. Everything I learned, so many tips and tricks, everything from these 90 days. It was hard-fought experience. It was not easy to learn all this stuff and I think it can be really beneficial for you too.

I also truly believe that if you find something that can make your life better, you should share it with other people. I really believe this can help people live longer, happier and healthier. That's why I built it into a proper program instead of just keeping it for myself.

Of course these days you can find a lot of information through AI, through ChatGPT. But I really believe this gamified thing, the structure, the accountability, the tracking of your weight and your streaks... that's what actually worked wonders for me. It's what kept me going on the days I wanted to quit.

So yeah, give it a go, I would say. 90 days is nothing compared to the rest of your life.

The reality

High cholesterol is the #1 killer worldwide. And you can't feel it.

There are no symptoms. No warning signs. No pain. It silently builds plaque in your arteries for years, and for many people, the first "symptom" is a heart attack or stroke.

17.9 million people die from cardiovascular disease every year. More than all cancers combined. And the main driver? Elevated LDL cholesterol, sustained over time.

The good news? It's reversible. Especially in early stages. Every point of LDL you lower reduces your risk. And you can start today.

Sound familiar?

You've Googled "how to lower cholesterol" and got 50 different answers

You tried "eating healthier" but you're not sure if it's actually working

You don't know which supplements actually help and which are a waste of money

You're overwhelmed by the science

You want a clear plan, not a list of vague advice

You've tried before but gave up after a few days because there was no structure or accountability

You want to prove to your doctor that you can do this without medication

The solution

A structured, daily system that tells you exactly what to do

Cholesterol90 breaks down the most effective, evidence-based interventions into small daily actions you can actually do. No guesswork. No information overload. Just open the app, see today's quests, and do them.

The program is built on the same research that cardiologists use. The same dietary patterns that clinical trials have shown can rival low-dose medication. We just turned it into something you can actually follow.

Not your uncle's advice about avoiding eggs, not the stuff from the 90s about fat being evil. A lot of what people think they know about cholesterol is outdated or just flat out wrong. We went through the actual meta-analyses and randomized controlled trials to find what genuinely moves the numbers.

But what if...

I'm young — do I really need to worry about this?
Cardiovascular disease is cumulative. Plaque buildup starts in your 20s and 30s. Studies of young accident victims found early atherosclerosis in the majority of people under 30. The earlier you get your LDL down, the dramatically better your long-term outcomes. Starting at 30 is worth far more than starting at 60.
Can I avoid going on statins?
Possibly, yes. Lifestyle interventions alone can reduce LDL by 20-35% in some people, which is enough to bring mildly or moderately elevated levels back into a healthy range. That said, it depends on how high your numbers are, your family history, and other risk factors. Always follow your doctor's advice on this. But many doctors will happily give you 3-6 months to try lifestyle changes before prescribing medication, especially if you can show you're serious about it. This program gives you the tools to make the most of that window.
I'm already on statins — is this still useful?
Absolutely. Lifestyle changes work through different mechanisms than statins. They're additive — you can reduce LDL by another 15-25% on top of medication. In fact, this is exactly what your doctor would tell you to do anyway. Some people are even able to reduce their dosage over time (always with their doctor's approval).
I don't have time for a complicated program
The core takes about 5 minutes a day — open the app, see your quests, check off what you've done. The habits themselves are things you already do (eating, walking) — you just do them slightly differently. There's no meal prep marathons or 2-hour gym sessions required.
I've tried eating healthier before and it didn't work
"Eating healthier" is vague. This is specific. You'll learn exactly which 2-3 interventions have the biggest impact (hint: they take 10 seconds each per day), and in what order to adopt them. There's a difference between trying harder and trying smarter.
How do I know it actually works?
Get blood work before you start. Do the program for 90 days. Get blood work again. Compare the numbers. That's it — the proof is in your own results. The program even tells you exactly which markers to ask your doctor for.
Do I have to give up everything I enjoy?
No. This is not a strict diet. You'll still eat pizza, chocolate, steak — whatever you want. The program is about adding a few powerful daily habits and making small, painless swaps. You'll be surprised how little you actually need to change to see big results.
Will I have to buy expensive supplements?
The two most impactful supplements cost about $10-15/month combined and are available at any pharmacy or Amazon. Most of the program uses regular grocery items you probably already buy. No expensive powders, no MLM products, no special equipment.
I'm vegetarian/vegan — does this work for me?
Yes. The core of the program is actually plant-friendly by nature. There are some meat and fish quests too, but they're optional. If anything, a plant-based diet gives you a head start.
What if I miss a few days?
The streak system has 2 built-in skip days per week. Miss a Saturday and Sunday? Your streak survives. This isn't about perfection — it's about consistency over 90 days. Life happens and the program is designed for real people.
Is this a subscription?
No. One-time payment. Full access to everything, forever. No recurring charges, no upsells, no premium tier. You get the complete program.
Why are you charging for this?
Look, all this information exists for free if you dig for it. You're paying for the structure, the daily system, the tracking, and the fact that someone already spent months doing the research so you don't have to. I tried giving stuff away for free before. Nobody uses it. The moment you pay for something, something clicks and you actually follow through. The price is a commitment device. It's the cost of two takeout meals and it might save you from statins for the rest of your life. Also, building and running this costs money. And honestly, I think charging for it makes it better. Free products have no incentive to actually help you. When you pay me, my incentive is to make this so good that you tell your friends about it. That's the kind of alignment I want.
Who built this?
Hey, I'm Thomas. ML engineer turned startup builder, trying to help people with things that actually work. I'm into running, hiking, camping, being in nature, traveling, and geeky stuff like AI and new tech gadgets. Come say hi on Twitter.
Should I stop taking my statins if this works?
No. Do not stop or change any medication without talking to your doctor first. Seriously. This program is about lifestyle changes that work alongside whatever your doctor prescribes. Some people eventually reduce their dosage with their doctor's blessing, but that's a conversation between you and them, not something you decide on your own based on an app.
My doctor wants to put me on statins. Should I try this first?
Talk to your doctor about it. Many doctors will give you 3-6 months to try lifestyle changes first, especially if your numbers are only mildly elevated. But if they say your levels are too high to wait, listen to them. You can always do this program on top of medication. That's a medical decision, not ours to make.
Is this medical advice?
No. Cholesterol90 is a lifestyle program based on published clinical research (meta-analyses, randomized controlled trials, FDA-approved health claims). It's a tool to help you do the things your doctor would recommend. Always work with your healthcare provider on cholesterol management.

90 days from now, you'll wish you started today

Every day you wait is another day of elevated LDL silently building plaque. Your next blood test could be the one that surprises your doctor. The one where they ask "what did you change?"
